Asian Flavored Pork Burgers
Using fresh coriander, ginger and garlic makes these little patties super tasty. Match them up with Thai chili sauce or a Asian barbeque sauce of your choice.
Ingredients
- 500 gr ground pork
- 1 large spring onion finely chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger finely chopped
- 1 tbsp garlic finely chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh coriander finely chopped
- 2 tbsp light soya sauce or Kikoman Japanese soya
- 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 1 tsp corn starch
- 4 tbsp fine bread crumbs
- 5 tbsp water
- extra sweet chili sauce to brush over the burgers
- 2 tbsp veg oil for frying the burgers
Instructions
- Finely chop the spring onion, and garlic and add to the pork. Chop the coriander not quite so finely and add to the pork. Add all the rest of the ingredients to the pork including the egg and mix well by hand. Fashion into burgers and place in the fridge to chill for half an hour. This will help them keep their shape while cooking.
- On a medium heat fry burgers in 1 or 2 msk (1 or 2 tbls), vegetable oil for 5 minutes on one side, turn and paint with a little extra sweet chili sauce and cook for an additional 3 to 4 minutes.
- Serve with Asian Flavored Red and Green Pepper Salsa and plain white rice. If you don't feel like making a salsa use a little Thai sweet chili sauce they will still be great.
